Chadacre Estate 3km fun run

Date: 2nd April 2017
Race starts: 10:30am

Entry Fee: £6

Suitable For:

Created for all the family to enjoy, our 3k run celebrates achievement but keeps the emphasis on having a great time.

Whether you are raising money, remembering a loved one or simply keeping active, this route was made for enjoyment and is more about family and friends having fun together than Olympic athletes setting record times.

The Course

The route is a multi-terrain course around the picturesque Chadacre Estate. The route will include stretches of footpaths, woodland and meadows. Chadacre Estate is nestled in rolling countryside and some moderate hills form part of the course. Parts of the course may be muddy and all terrain running shoes are advisable.

This is a multi-terrain event and all competitors enter it at their own risk. While medical assistance is provided for the duration of the event no liability will be accepted by the charity, individual race organisers or land owners for any injury incurred by entering this race.

Pictures and video footage may be used on the chadacre challenge website or that of our sponsors and in advertising material and media write-ups. All competitors entering the run agree to their photograph being used for these purposes.

It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to the terms and conditions as set out on the chadacre challenge website.

The registration desk at the race start will be open from 8.30-9.45am where race numbers and chips should be collected. Please note race numbers and chips will not be sent out in the post prior to the event.

To collect your number please queue behind the desk dealing with your race. The desks will be marked.

Please allow sufficient time to collect and attach your chip prior to the run.

A limited number of ‘on the day’ entries may be available. While every effort will be given to ensure on the day entries receive a chip time this can not be guaranteed. All on the day entries must be registered by 9am on a first come first serve basis.

There is ample parking at Chadacre Estate although some parts may be on a field. Please follow the car park attendants instructions and take care entering and leaving the estate.

Please note that parking is free.

All cars parked in the car park do so entirely at their own risk and the race organisers or land owners accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or valuables parked there.

Race Headquarters

A cricket pavilion is situated central to Chadacre estate, registration will take place here and any race queries can be resolved.

This will be clearly visible by the inflatable gantry and is located close to the car park.

Race Finish

Located in the same place as the race start.

  • Biggest Smile on course
  • Best Costume

This is a charity fun run staffed by volunteers and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organisers take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately. The results have been contracted out to a third party and they will record the 3km & 10km times by chip timing. The organisers accept no responsibility for equipment failure or an inability to capture finish times in any way.  Failure to secure your chip in line with the instructions or to lose it will mean your time is not recorded.

We use British Athletics rules in arriving at winners. Chadacre Challenge base their winners on the information supplied by the chip timing company and do not accept responsibility for any errors.

If an accurate race time is imperative to competitors we ask that they bring their own watches to record their times.

All times will be uploaded to the website hopefully from the Sunday evening. All recorded times are final and no dispute will be entered into.

Medical Support

Qualified First Aiders will be on hand at the race head quarters to assist with any emergency injuries. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health in competing in this event. The organisation will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.

If you are injured on the course please speak to one of the marshals who will contact the first aiders.

Complaints: The organisers have taken every step possible to ensure this is a fun, safe and enjoyable event. The race has been organised by and with the help of volunteers to raise money for charity. We hope you will take the run in the spirit in which it is intended. If however, you do have cause for complaint please would you direct it to the race directors at the race HQ where a formal written complaint will be recorded. This is so we can ensure the event is improved on where possible for future years.

Photography: Our official race photographer is Sarah Coe. Photographs will be uploaded to their photobox gallery soon after the run. Full details of the link to this will be notified to all runners once they have been uploaded and can be purchased direct from there. Please note that a condition of entering the Chadacre Challenge is that photographs may be used in future by the photographer and Chadacre Challenge for marketing purposes.

Massage: Post run ‘taster’ sports massage will be provided by Revolution Fitness. This is free of charge and subject to availability. Donations will be gratefully received by Lawshall Pre-School, and will be collected in the massage tent.

Please note: should we experience adverse weather in the week leading up to the race, and the Race Director in conjunction with the landowner deem the conditions at the venue to be too bad; the Race Director reserves the right to postpone the race. In this event, a new race date will be agreed. We regret that should you not be able to attend the new date; no refund of your race fee can be made.
